How it all started
Several years ago, Andrea Stieff thought how much fun it would be to carry a beautiful bouquet of flowers. She bought a basic straw bag and adorned it with one of her trademark floral designs. Immediately people stopped her and asked where she found her gorgeous bag. Several days later, longtime friend Karin Chriss came into the studio, took one look at the bag and announced, "I think we have a new business here!" Karin promptly covered every bag in sight with stunning and unique trims, buttons and flowers...and the rest is history!
The Bags
Our bags have evolved over the 5 years that we have been in business. We listen closely to all of our customers and have gained immeasurable information about what women want in a handbag. Along the way we have found amazing resources for all of our fabrics, jewels, doo-dads, furs, feathers and other materials. And we have learned about the nitty gritty things - like zippers!
We are proud to manufacture in the Unites States - it wasn’t easy but we found a factory that we love in New York. Our eternal gratitude to Eddie and Meiling who bring our ideas to life.
About the Designers
Karin Chriss is a nationally recognized, award-winning interior designer with a passion for antiques and an unparalleled reputation for finding and collecting unique and tastefully whimsical accessories.
Andrea Stieff has been designing fresh flowers and the decor for special events, weddings, magazines, and feature movies for over 20 years. She is recognized for her exquisite color sense and attention to detail.
Emily Stieff, a graduate of Connecticut college, studied both art - with a focus in design - and art history. Emily was on the ground floor with us at BBB and many of you remember her ads and her whimsical website designs. Emily has now moved to the big apple and is proudly working for the JDC doing graphic design for their marketing department. (www.jdc.org)
Lizzie Stieff, the newest member of BBB, just graduated from Syracuse University, having majored in retail management. Lizzie will be running the store in Cross Keys.
Buddy is all grown up and is now our security specialist at the store in Cross Keys. Stop by and see him - he loves attention!
